Traditional Director of Photography or flexible All-Rounder? I can do both.
I have a lot of experience working on traditional film sets, where we plan every shot in advance and on the day we just rock through the shot list. This way, you already know what shots you’ll get and it helps immensely to realize technically difficult shots (long takes, crane shots, etc …).
However, working this way is not always possible or even desirable. Through filming numerous documental pieces, I have learned to adapt quickly to situations, to think ahead and I have also learned how to create strong imagery even when resources are limited.

What can you expect when working with me?
It all starts with a conversation. After you’ve told me what your movie is about, I can start with a camera concept – assuming it’s needed. If it’s a run-and-gun project, just tell me when and where and I’ll be there 😉 Otherwise, we’ll work out a shot list in close coordination, I’ll take care of the necessary camera and lighting equipment and get other crew on board if necessary.
Then it’s time for the shoot. In consultation with you, we work our way through the shot list, with my crew we create wonderful lighting moods, do dynamic tracking shots and film until we have all the shots we need. Done, wonderful!
